What is ‘Eye for an Eye’ operation?
Iran took this military action Eye for an Eye Name given. The direct message of this name is that he will respond to every military action taken against him. Iran has long been saying that if its country’s security or its military bases are attacked, it will not shy away from retaliating. Under this policy, it has announced retaliatory action several times in the past also. After this claim, tension has increased again in the Middle East and apprehensions are being raised.
Which targets were targeted?
Iranian media claims that American military bases in the Gulf region were targeted. However, it was not made clear which targets were attacked and how much damage was caused. At present, detailed official information has not been shared by America either. In such cases, there may be a difference between initial claims and actual losses, so further official statements will remain under watch.

According to IRGC, in the first phase, missile and drone attacks were carried out on Jordan’s Prince Hassan airbase. In the second phase, Bahrain’s Sheikh Isa airbase was attacked and helicopter and drone facilities were targeted. Why did concern increase in this matter?
The Gulf region is considered the most important center of energy supply in the world. It is from here that crude oil and natural gas are supplied to a large part of the world. If military tensions between the US and Iran increase further, security risks around the Strait of Hormuz may increase. This can have a direct impact on international oil prices, shipping costs and global supply chains. Countries like India, which meet a large part of their oil needs from the Gulf, may also be affected by this.
Retaliatory actions have already been taken
This is not the first time that Iran has claimed military action in retaliation. After the death of General Qasim Sulemani in January 2020, Iran fired missiles at US military bases in Iraq. Even after the attack on the Iranian Embassy in Damascus in April 2024, Iran had launched drone and missile attacks on Israel directly from its soil for the first time. It is clear from this that Iran considers retaliatory action as an important strategy in its security policy.
