The case of theft of offerings from Ayodhya Ram temple continues to be in the headlines. As the investigation of the case is progressing, new revelations are emerging. The leaders’ rhetoric on this issue also continues. The ruling party and the opposition are continuously attacking each other. Meanwhile, there is news that the much awaited meeting of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will be held on July 6 at 3 pm at Maniram Das Cantonment.
According to the information, this will be the first formal meeting of the Trust after the incident of theft of offerings in Ram temple came to light. In such a situation, this meeting is being considered very important in terms of the leadership of the trust, administrative system of the temple and financial transparency. The first topic in the agenda issued for the meeting is to consider the resignations of Trust General Secretary Champat Rai and Trustee Dr. Anil Mishra.
SIT’s interim report will be presented
According to the meeting information issued by Trust Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri, the interim report of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) formed to calculate the amount received from donations will also be presented before the Trust in the meeting. It is believed that on the basis of the report, important decisions can be taken regarding the donation system, monitoring system and accountability of the temple.
Discussion on audit report and other financial proposals
In the meeting, the income and expenditure account, audit report and other financial proposals for the financial year 2025-26 will also be discussed and approved. Apart from this, future arrangements of temple management, improvement in administrative structure and possible names for appointments to vacant posts will also be considered. With the permission of the Chairman, decisions can also be taken on other important matters.
This meeting is also considered important because for the first time the resignations of two top officials of the Trust have become a part of the official agenda. Along with this, the Trust will also discuss in detail the interim report of the SIT investigating the offering theft case. In such a situation, the decisions of the meeting may prove to decide the administrative functioning of the temple and the future direction of the trust.
Who will preside over the meeting?
However, a new question has also arisen before the meeting. Trust President Mahant Nritya Gopal Das is to preside over the meeting, but these days he is admitted in the Trauma Center of Lucknow, where he is undergoing treatment. If he is unable to attend the meeting due to health reasons, then no official information has been given by the Trust regarding who will preside over the meeting.
Meanwhile, there is also discussion regarding meeting information. The name of Treasurer Swami Govind Dev Giri is mentioned in the information letter, but there is no signature or digital signature on it. The only thing mentioned in the letter is that it has been issued with the permission of the Speaker. Earlier, questions were raised over the resignation letters of General Secretary Champat Rai and Dr. Anil Mishra being issued without signatures.
