America has already declared Tren de Aragua as a terrorist organization. Nino Guerrero was accused of many serious charges in the federal court of New York. He was accused of criminal conspiracy, drug trafficking, violence, extortion and supporting terrorist activities. About Tren de Aragua
Tren de Aragua is considered the largest and most powerful criminal gang in Venezuela. It started from Tocorón prison in Aragua state. Gradually this prison gang became an international crime organization. During the mass exodus of people from Venezuela, this gang expanded its network to other countries. Its gangs also became active in countries like Colombia, Peru and Chile. They are accused of crimes like murder, kidnapping, human trafficking, drug trafficking and extortion.
In September 2023, the Venezuelan government launched a major operation on Tocorón prison with about 11,000 policemen and soldiers. In this action, the main base of the gang was destroyed, but many of its big leaders were successful in escaping. Despite this, the gang’s foreign networks are said to be active even today. Trump and his allies allege that Tren de Aragua is behind the increasing violence and illegal drug trade in some American cities.
