Amarnath Yatra 2026: Be cautious of brokers… Till now 1 lakh 70 thousand devotees have visited Baba Amarnath

July 10, 2026 by Uma Shankar

In the annual Amarnath Yatra that started from July 3 in Jammu and Kashmir, so far one lakh 17 thousand devotees have seen Baba in 7 days, this figure was shared by Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha while talking to journalists after his visit to Baltal Bus Camp today. Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha said, ‘The seven-day journey of Baba Amarnath has been completed. Today is the eighth day. Till now, approximately one lakh 70 thousand devotees have visited.

The Lieutenant Governor said, ‘All the departments of Jammu and Kashmir administration, Jammu and Kashmir Police, Army and security forces have together made every effort to make the journey pleasant and safe. This year, a large number of unregistered travelers have reached Jammu and Kashmir, who need to follow every arrangement from the administration and the entire administrative system is ready for them.

Jammu and Kashmir’s economy will get momentum

He said, ‘Compared to last year, a large number of devotees came without registration. We all have been successful in getting them to undertake the journey by making them understand peacefully and patiently. Efforts are being made that the devotees go with a pleasant and good experience. I hope that in the coming days, people coming from every corner of the country will leave with a good experience. While the Yatra has religious importance, I believe that the Yatra also helps the economy of Jammu and Kashmir a lot. All the travelers who come buy local products from the shops. At the same time, people who own hotels, vehicles, tents and horses get employment. I hope that the economy here will also get a lot of momentum.

Beware of trusted brokers

He has given special advice to the passengers to be cautious of passenger brokers and avoid any rumours. The Lieutenant Governor said, ‘Devotees and pilgrims are requested to follow the arrangements made by the administration and the Shrine Board. The entire administration is ready to help them. In case of any problem, inform the camp director and security forces. They will be provided all kinds of assistance. Some broker type people are everywhere, they mislead people, there is a need to be careful of such people. The charge for every facility and every service is fixed. If anyone asks for more charges than that, then complain to the camp director or the police. The administration will take action against him.
