In Yash Raj Films’ spy universe movie Alpha, Alia Bhatt says at one place- “Sita herself has come today to burn Lanka.” Obviously this is the newest face of Sita to be seen in any Hindi film. The character of Sita has created a stir here. That is another name for panic. It becomes difficult to control him. Till now we have seen the abduction of Sita, after which Hanuman ji burnt Lanka and Ram ji killed Ravana and freed him from the world of demons. Different metaphors of this have been seen in films. But Alpha is a next generation movie. The characters here are not like myths and mythology. In the film, Sita’s character has been created under a secret mission. She is a female soldier. She does not need anyone’s support, she knows how to go ahead and eliminate the country’s enemies on her own. Sharvari Wagh who played ‘Durga’ is accompanying him in this mission.
in the movie Alia Bhatt And the chemistry of Sharvari Wagh’s characters is going to shake the old paradigms. Sita and Durga of Spy Universe perform every dangerous stunt on screen. The gun fires bullets. The throat can be slit with a knife. The nature of his character is to kill. Sita in the film is not an ordinary woman but a fighter. She has been transformed into Danger Woman by giving her alpha serum in the laboratory. She has forgotten human feelings. Alpha is such a dangerous mission, when its secret is revealed, Sita’s eyes open and she starts her program to eliminate the enemies of the country.
New concept of ‘Sita’ and ‘Durga’
It is no surprise that director Shiv Rawail and the team of writers changed the old concept by dressing Sita and Durga in new clothes and showing them new exploits in the film. Many people may have some problem with the portrayal of Sita and Durga in the film. She is also seen in a swim suit, crossing the limits of cruelty. However, it is not the aim of the film to deliberately show this. Once upon a time, Sita and Geeta with double role of Hema Malini was also released. One is weak and the other is courageous. But here both are brave. Sometimes Sita’s attack appears more dangerous than Durga’s attack.
It is noteworthy that till now the films of Spy Universe have shown amazing exploits of male heroes, be it Tiger, War or Shahrukh Khan’s Pathan, but this is the first time when there are not one but two female lead characters. In this matter, there is definitely a little newness in this offering of Aditya Chopra and Uday Chopra. Going further in the story, it is revealed that both are twin sisters. The name of their mother is Janaki, the role of which is played by Dia Mirza. She dies after giving birth to twin daughters.

The script of the film is written by Saumil Shukla and Sridhar Raghavan, while the dialogues are by Ishita Moitra. In its attempt to show as much action as possible, the script of the film falters at many places, but at many places the dialogues have been written energetically, touching the mood of the action. Alia has a dialogue- “In the forest, lions only roar.” The lioness does the real hunting. So “The punishment for a traitor is death.” Etcetera.
Alia again showed her strength
However, the director-writers have shown wisdom in another matter. Alia Bhatt was not kept in double role for the twin sisters. Different heroines were taken for both the characters. Alia would definitely have benefited from her double role for the twin sisters, but with the arrival of Sharvari, the film got a new genre and face, two different scenes of glamor were seen. The audience would have been deprived of this. The story would have become like the movies of yesteryear. There is a tough competition for the roles of Sharvari and Alia in Alpha. Both have fight scenes and also joint operations.
However, the film Alpha is completely dedicated to female characters. In our Hindi films, usually it is the male hero who faces the male villain, but here it is the heroine who kills the male villain. With the aim of recognizing women’s power, Anil Kapoor does not kill the villain with his own hands but instead puts a pistol in his daughter’s hand. And also offers both the daughters to become female soldiers in the army.
Bobby Deol plays the role of a dreaded villain in the film. There is no doubt that Bobby’s strong acting has given weight to the film. So, in the role of Alia and Sharvari’s father, Anil Kapoor once again proved that there is no answer to his fitness. The entire film rests on the shoulders of Alia and Bobby. Both of them have entertained the audience a lot.
Less talk about the country, more about the family story
The weakest aspect of this film is the use of all the spices. Of course the locations of the film are commendable. The locations reflect grandeur on screen. The interestingness of the film increases. The pace that is seen in the first few scenes of the film and the story after the interval is not the same in the middle part. This reduces the intensity of the story of the film. The craft of action weakens the sequence of the story. Action dominates the story.
An attempt has been made in the film to show equal amount of glamor along with female action; every effort is being made to appeal to the young audience. At the same time, the effort is to highlight the sensitivity of father-daughter relationship, to show the love of two sisters, the spirit of patriotism, the enmity between India and Pakistan, the intrigues of espionage, the conspiracy of ISI, the Jihadi stance of Pakistan, the scenes of Kashmir-Ladakh, the border, the bravery of the Indian Army and the memories of the Kargil war, etc., all the flavors have been shown together. Of course, in this matter the film became a bit of a mess. In the first half of the film, there is less fight between the country and more fight within the family.
