Alert for Indians! Passport and visa services are suddenly stopping in UAE, know the reason

June 20, 2026 by Uma Shankar

Services related to Indian passport, visa and document verification (attestation) in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will remain temporarily closed for five days from June 26 to June 30. This decision has been taken by the Government of India as part of the process of handing over the responsibility to the new outsourced service provider company.

The Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi said that from July 1, 2026, Al Hind Tours and Travel LLC will take over the operation of these services across the UAE. However, emergency services will continue during this transition.

New applications will not be accepted after June 25

Currently, BLS International, which is handling passport and visa services, and SGIVS Global, which is handling attestation services, will stop accepting new applications after the close of business on June 25.

Due to this, normal appointments related to passport, visa and attestation will not be available between June 26 and June 30.

Emergency services will continue to be available

The Embassy of India (Abu Dhabi) and Consulate General of India (Dubai) will continue to provide emergency passport, visa and attestation services during this five-day period.

In case of urgent assistance, people can contact Indian missions on toll-free number 800 INDIA (800 46342), WhatsApp number +971 54 309 0571 or through email.

New online portal will start from July 1

According to the embassy, Al Hind Tours and Travel will also launch a new online appointment portal along with its services from July 1. Indian citizens have been advised to rely only on the official channels of the Indian Embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Indian Consulate General in Dubai for information related to this change.

There will be service centers in all the emirates of UAE.

Earlier, Indian missions had confirmed that Al Hind Tours and Travel will operate a total of 16 consular service centers across all seven emirates of the UAE, providing the Indian community with more convenient access to passport, visa and other services.
