
What Is Aguh Interim: The supplementary charge sheet of the National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the investigation of the 2025 car bomb blast near the Red Fort in Delhi has once again brought the name of AGuH Interim into the headlines. The agency claims that this organization was not just a local module, but was working as a new terrorist network operating in India. According to the NIA, the objective of this network was to attract youth towards radicalism, recruit new members, provide training in explosives and plot major terrorist attacks. In the same investigation, the name of a child pediatrician, Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed, has also come to light, whom the agency has said to be one of the founding members of this organization.
According to the NIA, the investigation of the Red Fort blast was not limited to just one terrorist attack, but it revealed a network which was trying to strengthen its roots in different parts of the country. The agency says that people associated with AGuH Interim kept in touch through social media, encrypted messaging apps and secret meetings. On the basis of digital evidence, electronic devices and other material found in the investigation, the agency has identified many members of this network. After the filing of supplementary charge sheet, there are now a total of 13 accused in this case, while some accused are said to be still absconding.
What is AGuH Interim?
According to NIA, AGuH Interim (Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind Interim) is a terrorist organization which was formed with the aim of creating new modules in India and attracting youth towards radicalism. The agency claims that the organization used to recruit new people through social media, encrypted messaging apps and secret meetings. Apart from this, the members are also accused of making explosives, testing them and preparing them for terrorist activities.
What is the connection with Red Fort blast?
According to the NIA investigation, the role of AGuH Interim came to light during the investigation of the car bomb (VBIED) blast that took place near the Red Fort in November 2025. The agency claims that people associated with the organization planned this attack and played different responsibilities in carrying it out. After the filing of the supplementary charge sheet, now the charge sheet has been filed against a total of 13 accused in this case, while some accused are still absconding.
What are the allegations against Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed?
NIA alleges that Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed of Jammu and Kashmir was active in the activities of the organization despite being a pediatrician by profession. According to the agency, the absconding accused Dr. Muzaffar Ahmed is a pediatrician (MBBS, MD) by profession. He is the elder brother of co-accused Dr. Adeel Ahmed Rather. The agency claims that he was among the founding members of Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind (AGuH), which is believed to be an organization linked to Al-Qaeda in the Indian Subcontinent (AQIS). It is being claimed that he played a role in preparing the explosives, testing them and coordinating with other members of the organization, currently he is absconding and the NIA is searching for him.
