Power cuts continue amid scorching heat in Uttar Pradesh. People are troubled by frequent power cuts in summer. Because of this the opposition is attacking the state government. Now the ruling party has given a befitting reply by criticizing the opposition. State Electricity Minister AK Sharma has hit back on social media on the statement of Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav regarding the electricity system. The Electricity Minister said that first look yourself and then show the mirror.
Electricity Minister Sharma said in his long post on social media He also claimed that earlier many villages used to get electricity only once a week, whereas now electricity is being supplied for 18 to 24 hours in villages, tehsils and cities.
‘The electricity system was in disarray during SP rule’
Referring to electricity consumers, he said that after the year 2017, there has been a huge increase in the number of electricity consumers in the state and today more than 3.70 crore consumers are getting electricity. He also alleged that in the previous government, power theft and corruption were protected, due to which the power system was in disarray.
Nowadays, the honorable chief of Samajwadi Party finds the electricity system of UP very weak. I would like to say to them:
Whenever you lift the mirror,
First see it yourself and then show it.1. At the end of four regimes of Samajwadi Party including yours, the average peak demand of electricity in UP in 2012-17 was 13000 MW. pic.twitter.com/QmPkTMbXKD

According to the Energy Minister, the Yogi Adityanath government of the state made a lot of efforts to improve the electricity situation. A big campaign was launched to remove dilapidated wires, replace old poles and faulty transformers. Currently, work on new power generation projects worth thousands of MW is going on in the state and transmission capacity is also being continuously increased.
‘Among the largest generators of electricity’
He claimed that in the last few years, lakhs of kilometers of dilapidated wires were replaced in UP and lakhs of new electric poles were installed. He says that today UP has become one of the largest electricity supplying states in the country and record electricity demand is being met.
On the smart meter controversy, the Electricity Minister said that the government has given great relief to the people on the smart meter controversy also. He has announced to stop new smart prepaid meters and implement postpaid like system till the review of technical complaints is completed. Also, instructions have been given to the officials to ensure uninterrupted power supply during the scorching heat and the problems of tripping and low-voltage should be resolved immediately.
Look at yourself, then show the mirror to others: Sharma
Taking aim at the opposition, the Minister said that the work which was not done earlier is being done today and the people of the state are seeing the changes in the electricity system. He sarcastically said that nowadays the Samajwadi Party chief sees the power system of UP as very weak. I would like to tell them that whenever you pick up the mirror, first look at yourself and then show it to others.
At the end of his long post on social media, the Electricity Minister said, “An experienced person like you should support all of us who are engaged in meeting the unexpectedly increased demand due to the scorching heat. As for Acacia, the decision has already been taken. You have planted them. We are destroying them completely. There is another mirror attached, that too will not lie.”
