Ajay Devgan He was continuously giving hit films in the 90s. However, at the end of 1998 and 1999, many of his films flopped. Between December 1998 and December 1999, films came from Ajay Devgan’s line. It started with ‘Zakhm’. This film was released on 25 December 1998. After this ‘Kachche Dhaage’ came with Saif Ali Khan. This picture was a hit and its songs were also very popular. That year, Ajay also worked in Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai starrer ‘Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam’. This was also a big hit and earned more than Rs 24 crore.

Hit-flop series

According to Box Office India, the budget of Ajay Devgan’s ‘Zakhm’ was Rs 4 crore and this film could earn only Rs 4 crore 21 lakh at the domestic box office and proved to be a flop. After this, ‘Kachche Dhaage’ followed, but ‘Hogi Pyar Ki Jeet’ released on 7 May 1999 was limited to a semi-hit. This film, which was made for Rs 6 crores, had earned around Rs 10 crores. On July 23, 1999, Ajay Devgan’s ‘Hindustan Ki Kasam’ was released, which was made for Rs. 13 crores. It somehow achieved average status by earning Rs 13 crore 96 lakh and was saved from being a flop.

3 consecutive movies beat

Ajay’s 3 films were released between September 1999 and December 1999 and all three flopped. Ajay’s ‘Dil Kya Kare’ released on 24 September 1999. Made for Rs 9 crore, this film earned only Rs 8 crore 94 lakh at the domestic box office and was a flop. After this, ‘Gair’ was released on 7 November. Its budget was only Rs 3.5 crore, yet it could earn only Rs 3 crore 29 lakh at the domestic box office and proved to be a flop. Ajay Devgan’s Takshak released on the big screen on 3 December 1999 but flopped. Its budget was Rs 6.5 crore and it did a business of only Rs 3 crore 64 lakh. This film proved to be a disaster.
