Aishwarya Madhuri Devdas Fees: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's film 'Devdas', released on July 12, 2002, has completed 24 years, but even today it is counted among the most favorite films of Indian cinema. Spectacular sets, strong acting and memorable music gave this film cult status. Meanwhile, let us know who got more fees in the film between Aishwarya Rai and Madhuri Dixit.
According to media reports, Aishwarya Rai was given a fee of around Rs 1.5 crore for playing the character of 'Paro' in the film. At that time, this was considered a huge amount for any actress. To enhance her beauty in the film, about 600 sarees were brought from Kolkata.
At the same time, Madhuri Dixit got a fee of around Rs 2.7 to 3 crore for the role of 'Chandramukhi'. That means Madhuri was ahead of Aishwarya Rai in terms of fees. Not only this, she wore costumes worth about Rs 15 lakh designed by Abu Jani-Sandeep Khosla in the film.
Shahrukh Khan, who played the role of Devdas in the film, got a fee of around Rs 3.5 crore, while Jackie Shroff charged around Rs 1 crore for the role of Chunnilal. According to reports, due to budget constraints, some artists supported the shooting of some parts even without taking fees so that the film could be completed.
Made with a budget of around Rs 50 crore, 'Devdas' did a business of around Rs 41.67 crore in India and around Rs 90.63 crore worldwide. The grand sets of the film were also much talked about. Around Rs 12 crores were spent alone in preparing the sets of Chandramukhi's brothel, which made it one of the most expensive films of that era.
