
A technical fault was found in Air India flight (AI173) from Delhi to San Francisco. The plane remained in the air for about 8 hours after taking off from Delhi. After this the flight was brought back to Delhi due to security reasons. There were about 230 passengers on board the plane. All passengers are said to be safe. Air India spokesperson has confirmed the incident.
Air India spokesperson issued a statement saying that flight AI173 going from Delhi to San Francisco was returned back to Delhi due to a technical glitch. This decision was taken under the prescribed security rules. The plane landed safely in Delhi. Now the aircraft will be technically inspected. Air India has expressed regret for the inconvenience caused to the passengers.
Alternative arrangements are being made for passengers – Air India
An airline spokesperson said that alternative arrangements are being made to take the passengers to their destination quickly. Passengers are being provided facilities like refreshments, hotel and re-scheduling. Air India said that the safety of passengers and crew is their biggest priority.
This type of incident has happened with Air India before too.
This is not the first time this has happened with Air India. A similar incident was seen in the month of March also. On March 19, Air India flight (AI185) from Delhi to Vancouver returned to Delhi after circling in the air for eight hours. It was later discovered that the airline had sent the wrong plane to Vancouver. The plane did not have permission to enter Canada. The plane had to return from Chinese airspace. This was considered a major technical mistake of Air India.
Air India’s condition worsens after Ahmedabad plane crash
The situation of Air India has worsened after the plane crash in Ahmedabad on June 12 last year. Technical problems keep happening in his plane every day. Sometimes something happens and sometimes something else. About 270 people died in the Ahmedabad plane crash.
