An Air India plane coming from Bengaluru had to make an emergency landing at Delhi Airport on Thursday evening due to engine fire indication. Air India said in a statement that the crew followed all standard operating procedures and landed the A320 aircraft safely at Delhi airport. It said that all passengers and crew members are safe.
AI2802 flight was coming from Bengaluru to Delhi. The statement said that during the aircraft’s entry into Delhi, the crew member in the cockpit received an indication of a fire from one of the engines. According to sources, there were more than 160 people on board the plane. According to the information, Air India said that it is immediately starting a full investigation into the cause of the incident.
Technical glitch during landing
Actually, a case of technical glitch came to light during landing in Air India flight AI2802 going from Bengaluru to Delhi. According to Air India, when the plane was about to land at Delhi airport, the pilots got a signal of engine fire. After this the crew immediately followed the safety procedures and landed the plane safely in Delhi.

The airline company said that all the passengers and crew members are completely safe in this incident. After the safe landing of the plane, the passengers were taken out with caution. Air India spokesperson issued a statement saying that the company is aware of the incident related to flight AI2802 going from Bengaluru to Delhi on Thursday. He said that the plane had landed safely and there was no harm to any passenger or crew member. At present the airline is gathering additional information and is in constant touch with the concerned agencies.
Fire signal found in engine
According to sources, as soon as the signal of fire was detected in the engine, the pilots immediately informed the air traffic control and took necessary steps as per safety rules. A major accident was averted due to the safe landing of the plane. According to initial information, it is being considered a technical fault, however, the real reason will be revealed only after the investigation is completed.
