
On one hand, protests by students are being seen in different parts of the country against NEET paper leak and irregularities in the education system. On this issue, Aryan Gupta, who secured All India Rank 1 in NEET UG 2026, also presented his views before the students. He said that he was also very disappointed after getting the news of paper cancellation, but he did not let this disappointment overpower him and remained focused on his preparation. He said, “Initially I was disappointed because I was really sad. I cried a lot when the paper was cancelled.”
However, he soon realized that he was not alone in facing this difficulty. He said, “It was wrong, but it did not happen only to me. About 22 lakh candidates had to go through the same situation and had to take the exam again. Gradually I realized that I had got another chance. I started studying again from the very next day and gave my best every day. The results are in front of me.”
Parents are also doctors
Gave credit for his success to his parents, brother and teachers. He credited his family and teachers for helping him stay positive during difficult times. He said that without their continuous support it would not have been possible to achieve this feat. Her father, Dr. Sachin Gupta, is an anesthesiologist, while her mother, Dr. Renu Gupta, is a gynecologist. His elder brother is studying medicine from Maulana Azad Medical College (MAMC), Delhi.
‘Improvement in the examination system is necessary’
Answering a question related to the students involved in the protests, Aryan Gupta said that he acknowledged their concerns and expressed hope for improvement in the examination system. He said, “This is wrong, but protest and dissent are an important part of democracy. We can only hope that the system gets better. Every system has loopholes, and I hope there will be reforms so that paper leaks or such incidents never happen again.”
What did Panshul, who secured rank 2, say?
Panshul Bansal is a student of KR Mangalam World School, Greater Kailash, Delhi. He secured All India Rank 2 in the re-conducted examination of NEET-UG 2026. After the paper leak, huge demonstrations were taking place across the country. But Panshul did not participate in the demonstration. He said that I stayed at home and paid full attention to my studies. According to him, it was better to study rather than protest, the result of which is visible today.
