After Lok Sabha, Anti Paper Leak Bill has now been passed by Rajya Sabha also. Union Minister of State Jitendra Singh had today introduced the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 (Anti-Paper Leak Law) in the Rajya Sabha, which was passed by voice vote. Introducing the bill in the Rajya Sabha, the Union Minister said that despite repeated disruptions, it has been passed in the Lok Sabha after about 10 hours of discussion.
He said, ‘As you all know, this bill has been passed in the lower house. There, 10 hours of time was allotted to discuss it. Despite repeated interruptions, it was discussed and the bill was passed. Now this bill has come in the upper house.
This Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 has a provision for strict punishment against the culprits of paper leak. This bill has a provision of maximum imprisonment of 10 years and a fine of Rs 50 lakh for those who leak papers during public examinations.
