
Three student activists of All India Student Association (AISA), who were on indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, have ended their strike. After an appeal by a delegation of opposition MPs, activists and several prominent personalities, Neha, Amen and Manish finally decided to end their fast on Monday (July 20).
These AISA workers were on strike for the last 23 days demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan and reforms in the education system, due to which their health was being greatly affected. These people were continuously being appealed to end the strike.
Decision taken after appeal of delegation
According to AISA, the decision was taken after the appeal of a delegation including Rajya Sabha MP Manoj Jha, MPs Rajaram Singh and Amra Ram, activist Yogendra Yadav, senior advocate Prashant Bhushan, Professor Atul Sood and actors Prakash Raj and Shabana Azmi. Some pictures have also surfaced from Jantar Mantar, in which Shabana Azmi is seen smiling with her hand around the neck of an AISA worker. Actor Prakash Raj is seen giving water to Neha.

On this occasion, MP Manoj Jha praised the protesters and said, ‘What you have achieved is huge, because this government has been exposed on every front’. Meanwhile, MP Rajaram Singh supported taking this movement to Parliament and said, ‘From today your struggle will echo in the House of Democracy also. You have shown all the opposition parties the right way to fight. Yogendra Yadav said that this is not the end of the hunger strike, but the end of this type of struggle.
Shabana Azmi supported the protest
Famous actress Shabana Azmi, who reached Jantar Mantar, said that we all have come here for peaceful protest, so that we can use the rights given by the Constitution of our country. He said that Mahatma Gandhi had taught us the way to protest peacefully and we have come here on that basis. He said that we have no intention of doing any kind of violence and we are standing here strongly with this hope.
AISA workers were on strike for 23 days
Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) has been protesting at Jantar Mantar since June 20 regarding NEET paper leak and reforms in the education system. The party is demanding the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. In this, three student activists of India Student Association (AISA) Neha, Amen and Manish were also sitting on hunger strike. AISA claimed that during the fast the three students lost a lot of weight and their health was deteriorating. AISA said that despite serious health problems, the students continued the agitation. A large number of youth have come to this demonstration. Many opposition leaders have also reached Jantar Mantar and extended their support.
