Taking strict action against international criminal gangs operating in the US, the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has included a member of a criminal gang linked to India in its ‘Most Wanted’ list. Gangster Nitish Kaushal has been placed in the list of ‘most wanted’ criminals by the FBI.
The federal agency has described Nitish Kaushal as an alleged associate of “Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Organized Crime Group (OCG)”. He is accused of being involved in murder, kidnapping and drug smuggling in America, with the FBI claiming that the agency is getting closer to the Bhagwanpuria gang.
Accusations of murder, kidnapping and extortion
The FBI said on Tuesday that Indian citizen Kaushal allegedly carried out several incidents of violence on behalf of the Bhagwanpuria Organized Crime Group, including kidnappings and assaults. The investigating agency also said, “Nitish Kaushal is being sought for his alleged involvement in an organized crime group that is involved in various crimes like murder, kidnapping, drug smuggling, extortion, arms smuggling, money laundering and human trafficking.”

The FBI claimed that Nitish Kaushal may have a lot of weapons and is dangerous, and there is also a danger of him running away anywhere.
Arrest warrant issued from California court
Appealing to the people for help, the US agency said that if they have any information about Kaushal, they should contact the local FBI office, US Embassy or Consulate. The agency said that Jaggu Bhagwanpuria Organized Crime Group started from Punjab, India and is operated from the Central District of California and other places.
The FBI said that the US District Court of the Central District of California in Los Angeles had issued a federal arrest warrant against Kaushal on June 25 last month. He was accused of being influenced by racketeering and conspiring with corrupt organizations.
This action was taken by the Federal Investigation Agency FBI under ‘Operation Hard Ball’, which is a coordinated international law enforcement action against the Bhagwanpuria gang. Under this operation, raids were conducted in America, Canada and Europe and legal action was taken. The action highlights growing international efforts to dismantle transnational criminal syndicates taking root in India.
