Aarogya Setu 2.0: Old medical reports will be digital with AI, Aarogya Setu 2.0 will be launched tomorrow

June 28, 2026 by Uma Shankar

The Government of India will launch a new version of the Arogya Setu app on June 29. Arogya Setu was started during the Covid-19 pandemic. Now its new version will be launched. The new Arogya Setu will now become a Personal Health Record (PHR) app. That means you will be able to keep all your health related records in one place. Along with this, other big platforms related to digital health will be launched. The objective of this new app is to make health services easily accessible to the people and there should be better coordination between different hospitals, labs and government systems.

The first version of this app was a digital contact-tracing tool, which soon became controversial due to its uselessness and potential cyber-security threats. According to the ministry, with the new version users will be able to create and manage Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA). You will be able to view and share digital health records and easily access health related information with your approval. The statement said that the app will also provide AI-generated health insights. The wearable will capture data from the device and also facilitate outpatient registration and hospital payments through in-app scan features.

What are the features in the new Arogya Setu app?

Through this app, you will be able to easily find nearby hospitals, doctors, ambulances and blood banks. You will be able to avail the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Jan Arogya Yojana (PM-JAY) i.e. Ayushman Bharat directly from the app. There will be facilities like finding hospital, cashless treatment and digital insurance wallet. The app will also have complete details of “Ayushman CAPF” scheme.

This app will also have policy details of a scheme named “Ayushman CAPF”. The statement did not specify the scope of the scheme, but NHA has earlier said that employees of eight CAPF forces and their dependents can avail cashless healthcare services at empaneled facilities.
