Aamir Khan Blockbuster Movies: Aamir Khan is not called Bollywood’s ‘Mr. Perfectionist’ for no reason. He has given many such films in his career, which created new records at the box office. The interesting thing is that 25th December proved to be very lucky for Aamir. His two films were released on the same date in two consecutive years i.e. 2008 and 2009 and both proved to be blockbusters. First ‘Ghajini’ created a stir at the box office and the very next year ‘3 Idiots’ broke all the earning records.
Aamir Khan’s back-to-back blockbuster movies ‘Ghajini’ and ‘3 Idiots’, the special thing about both of them was not only their release date, but both of them also set new box office benchmarks in Indian cinema. While ‘Ghajini’ made it to the films that entered the Rs 100 crore club, ‘3 Idiots’ became one of the highest-grossing Indian films of that year.
Ghajini (2008)
‘Ghajini’, released on 25 December 2008, is directed by A.R. Murugadoss did it. Asin and Jiah Khan were seen with Aamir Khan in the film. Made with a budget of around Rs 52 crore, this action-thriller did a worldwide business of around Rs 194 crore. The film has got a 7.4 rating on IMDb. 3 Idiots (2009)
Exactly one year later, ‘3 Idiots’, released on 25 December 2009, created history at the box office. Made in the direction of Rajkumar Hirani, this film stars Aamir Khan, R. Madhavan, Sharman Joshi, Kareena Kapoor and Boman Irani were seen in important roles. Made with a budget of around Rs 55 crore, this film earned around Rs 350 crore worldwide. It has got an excellent rating of 8.4 on IMDb. This film is also available on Prime Video.
These two films, released on 25th December two consecutive years, not only gave new heights to Aamir Khan’s stardom, but also created new records at the box office. This is the reason why 25th December is considered to be the luckiest release day of Aamir Khan’s career.
