There was a stir in the village on Tuesday evening when a person named Deen Dayal, under the influence of alcohol, climbed straight onto an 11,000 volt electric pole. He not only climbed, but also lay down on the high-tension wires as if he was sleeping on the bed of his own house. As soon as the villagers saw him, panic spread in the entire area. According to the local people, the man was lucky because for some reason the electricity was cut just before he climbed the pole. If there was current running through the wires, he could have died in a moment.

The local police and electricity department team were immediately called to the spot to bring the person down. After this, as a precautionary measure, the power supply of the entire area was switched off, so that no accident happens during the rescue. The police, electricians and villagers kept pleading the man for hours to come down, but he was not ready to come down. After much effort and persuasion, he was finally brought down safely.
