Nowadays, people are often seen complaining about 9 to 5 jobs on social media. Some people are troubled by office pressure, while others get tired of the daily commute. Many people also say that job takes away their freedom, but if everything is seen only from the perspective of problem, then its good aspects are never seen. The truth is that every job teaches us something or the other, which is not taught in books or college. Divyam Batra also tells the same thing in one of his videos. He says that he not only earned money from his 9 to 5 job, but also learned life lessons which are still useful in every decision he takes today.
1. No job is small or useless
Divyam tells that he started his career by working in BPO. At that time he had to attend about 200 calls every day. Many times people in front would get angry without any reason, say wrong things and even use abusive language. In such a situation anyone’s patience can fail. But this period taught him that it is not necessary to respond to everything with anger. Keeping yourself calm even in difficult situations, doing your work honestly and controlling your emotions is a great strength. This habit later comes in handy in every profession and personal life.
2. Struggle gradually becomes your strength
In the beginning, it seems very difficult to wake up early in the morning, reach office on time, work for hours and then return home tired in the evening. But when this work is done daily, both body and mind become a habit of it. Divyam believes that regular struggle makes a person stronger. The work which seemed difficult earlier, later starts seeming normal. This increases mental strength and it also becomes easier to face other challenges in life. Therefore, every difficult phase does not make you weaker, but stronger than before.
3. Job teaches the real value of time
When 8 to 10 hours of the day are spent in office, then it is understood how valuable the remaining time is. A working person quickly learns how to utilize every minute properly. Spending time with family after office, completing important tasks, taking rest and taking out some time for yourself, all this is possible only if you plan your time properly. Gradually, unnecessary use of mobile phone or wasting of time starts reducing. This habit later makes life more balanced and organized.
4. Earning your own makes you feel responsible
When you get your hard earned money in your hands for the first time, then you understand the real importance of money. Then one realizes how much hard work has gone behind every rupee.
Divyam says that after earning money himself, a person thinks twice before spending it. Gradually, a habit of saving is formed and the difference between need and hobby is also understood. Financial responsibility is not limited to just increasing the bank balance, but also changes the way of thinking. This understanding helps in taking big decisions in future.
5. The art of good conversation is the biggest skill
In today’s time, people often insist on learning new technical skills. But if a person does not know how to express his views properly, then many times even his hard work does not reach the people. Divyam believes that job teaches you to work with different types of people. Sometimes one has to work together with the team, sometimes one has to convince an angry customer, and sometimes one has to present one’s views in front of one’s senior. With all these experiences, communication skills automatically improve.
Good conversation helps in strengthening relationships not only in office but also in family, friends and society. Therefore, this skill is important for every person, no matter in which field he works. There are challenges in every job and every person is troubled by them sometimes. But if we only focus on the problems, we will miss the opportunity to learn. At the same time, if we try to learn something new from every experience, then the same job can become our greatest teacher. A 9 to 5 job not only gives salary at the end of the month, but also teaches discipline, patience, value of time, responsibility and how to behave well with people.
