70 crore youth population is the biggest strength of the country, PM Modi said in NITI Aayog meeting

Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired the 11th Governing Council meeting of NITI Aayog. During this, he said that ‘the goal of Developed India 2047 will be realized only when it becomes a common resolution of every state, district, block and village. The theme of the meeting was ‘Inclusive Human Development for a Developed India @2047’. During this, PM Modi described India’s 70 crore youth population as the country’s biggest strength and called upon the states to convert this demographic dividend into development dividend.

The Prime Minister urged states to create more opportunities for youth and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and attract investments from countries with which India has signed free trade agreements (FTAs).

AI is not a challenge but an opportunity

He appealed to the states to strengthen the ‘One District, One Product’ (ODOP) initiative and take advantage of the opportunities available in the field of defense manufacturing. The Prime Minister said that Artificial Intelligence (AI) should not be seen as a challenge but as an opportunity and people should be equipped with future-ready skills.

Appeal to promote natural farming

He also stressed the need for coordinated efforts between the Center and the states to deal with emerging social challenges like drug addiction and cyber fraud. Along with this, the Prime Minister expressed concern over the possible effects of El Niño and urged the states to give priority to water conservation and promote natural farming.

Congratulations to PM Modi on completion of 12 years of tenure

All the Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors and administrators present in the meeting congratulated Prime Minister Modi on the completion of his 12 years in office. The states expressed solidarity with the Central Government to address global geopolitical challenges, ensure energy security and maintain India’s growth momentum.

Chief Ministers of all 28 states attended the meeting

This was the first time that Chief Ministers of all 28 states attended the meeting. Apart from this, 5 union territories also participated in the meeting. At the conclusion of the meeting, PM Modi said that the discussions reflected the aspirations, experiences, best practices and challenges of the states. Expressing his gratitude to all the Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors and Administrators, he expressed confidence that on the strength of shared commitment towards cooperation, innovation and development, India will accelerate its journey towards becoming a developed nation by 2047.
