
A 7-month-old Palestinian baby was killed in Israeli army firing on Friday near the city of Hebron in the Israeli-occupied West Bank. The child’s parents were also injured in this incident. Later the Israeli Army (IDF) expressed grief over this and said that initial investigation revealed that the victims were not involved in any kind of violent activity.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the child’s name was Sam Fahad Abu Haikal. The ministry said that Israeli soldiers opened fire on the family’s car in the southern area of Hebron. The child died in the firing, while his parents suffered minor injuries.

The Israeli army admitted that its soldiers had fired on the car. The army says that at that time the soldiers felt that the vehicle could pose a threat, hence shots were fired. However, initial investigation later revealed that the people in the car were civilians and were not involved in any kind of hostile activity. The Army said that the matter is being fully investigated and the report will be submitted to the concerned authorities.
More than 70 thousand deaths in Gaza
The IDF said in its statement that we are deeply saddened by the harm caused to innocent people. This incident has happened at a time when violence between Israel and Palestine continues. After the attack by Hamas on October 7, 2023, the situation in the West Bank and Gaza has worsened. According to Palestinian officials, more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank since October 2023.
At the same time, Israel says that on October 7, 2023, about 1,200 people were killed in the Hamas attack and 251 people were taken hostage. According to Gaza’s Health Ministry, more than 70,600 people have died in Israeli military action since the start of the war.
