30 years of Suryakiran team, IAF’s aerial stunts will light up the sky

The Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) of the Indian Air Force is once again ready to light up the sky with its spectacular aerobatics. The team full of enthusiasm and passion is celebrating 30 years of its formation. Suryakiran Team was established in the year 1996 and is considered the official aerobatic ambassador of the Indian Air Force.

A special video released by the Air Force shows the excellent formation of nine Hawk aircraft, colorful smoke trails and difficult aerial stunts of the pilots. The video also shows the precise coordination and long practice of the nine pilots of the team.

Message of ‘Always the Best’

The message of Sadaiva Sarvottam i.e. always doing the best has also been given in the video, which has become the identity of the team. In this video, pilots are seen performing spectacular stunts in the sky. The team includes 9 Hawk Mk-132 aircraft, which perform acrobatics in the sky at times.

Excitement increased regarding air show

This message issued three days before the program has increased the enthusiasm among the people about the air show. Suryakiran Aerobatic Team has done more than 800 air displays across the world so far and is going to thrill the audience once again with its powerful performance in May 2026.

For the last 30 years, the Suryakiran Aerobatic Team (SKAT) of the Indian Air Force has been performing precision take off, dive, loop, barrel roll, inverted flight and other breathtaking aerobatics in its bright red and white colored training jets, painting the sky with the colors of the tricolour. This team has never failed to mesmerize the audience in the country and abroad.

Was established in 1996

Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team, formed in 1996 and known as the Ambassador of the Indian Air Force, is the only aerobatic team in Asia consisting of 9 aircraft. Flying distinctive red and white Hawk MK-132 jets, the team is known for its precise formation and coordinated manoeuvres.
