‘There is no threat to national security from these people’
Owaisi said that among the places where action is being taken, the almost 250 year old Dargah of Hazrat Mahmood Shah Jilani located on Ramgarh-Tanot bypass road in Jaisalmer is also included. However, officials have cited national security concerns for this action. Owaisi said that people living in the affected areas had no role in any such activity which could threaten national security.
Expressing concern, Owaisi said that only the places of worship of Muslims are being targeted. He said that the officials earlier used to say that these buildings were built on pasture (government land for grazing animals). But, when the documents were shown that the land was private, the officials changed the grounds and said that necessary permission was not taken. Tagging Amit Shah, Owaisi has appealed to the Central Government to stop this illegal demolition and review the entire matter. No response has come yet from the Rajasthan government or the local administration.
