Iran on Monday (local time) gave a strong warning to America and reiterated its authority over the Strait of Hormuz. Shortly after US President Donald Trump claimed control of the vital sea route, the Islamic Republic rejected Washington’s interference in its management. Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi wrote on the social media platform X, the American President is absolutely right. The party providing safe passage to cargo ships through the Strait of Hormuz is entitled to be paid for this service. Iran has always been and always will be the protector of Hormuz.
Iran’s Foreign Minister took a dig at Trump’s toll tax and said that 20 percent is definitely too much. We will be fair. Araghchi’s statement came after Trump’s post on Truth Social, in which he shared his plan regarding the Strait of Hormuz.
America will not be allowed to interfere in the management of Hormuz
Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters spokesman Brigadier General Ibrahim Zolfgari said that Iran will not, under any circumstances, allow America to interfere in the management of the Strait of Hormuz. He also said that if the US military tries to allow commercial ships and oil tankers to pass through the Strait of Hormuz outside Iran’s designated shipping routes and without the permission of the Iranian military, Iran will give a strong response.
Iran’s army will give a strong reply
The spokesperson described the recent action of IRGC as evidence of Iran’s stance. Press TV quoted him as saying, if the US military creates any obstruction to the movement of commercial ships and oil tankers outside Iran’s designated shipping routes and without the permission of the Iranian military, the Iranian military will give a strong response. The recent actions of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the Iranian Army are proof of this.
Providing logistical support to America is an act of war.
The spokesperson warned the Gulf countries that providing any kind of logistical help to America would be considered an act of war against Iran. He said regional leaders are warned that any cooperation with the US or providing logistical support to its attacking forces would be considered an act of war against Iran’s sovereignty and national security.
He further said that if this conflict escalates, the fire of war will engulf all the countries in the region. According to Press TV report, the spokesperson also accused America of escalating the conflict. He said that the countries supporting America and its military are completely responsible for the increase in insecurity and conflict in this region.
Condemnation of America’s action
Meanwhile, according to Press TV, IRGC spokesperson Brigadier General Mohebi also condemned the US action in the Strait of Hormuz and accused it of endangering global oil and gas security. He said that America has seriously endangered global oil and gas security by interfering in the Strait of Hormuz and it should be held accountable for this.
He said that Iran will continue to exercise its sovereignty and rights over the Strait of Hormuz. He also said that Iran will force foreign powers and their allies to accept the will of the Iranian nation. Responding to the American claim of neutralizing the Iranian army, he said that the Iranian army will make the American army even more helpless.
US protector of the Strait of Hormuz
Just as we limited American leaders’ initial goals at the beginning of the aggression to merely reopening the Strait of Hormuz, he claimed, according to a Press TV report, “we will leave them even more humiliated and helpless in response to their recent hostile actions.” The comments came as Trump regained control of the Strait of Hormuz and declared the US the custodian of the Strait of Hormuz, as well as announced a renewed maritime blockade specifically targeting Iran.
Iranian blockade reimposed
In a post on Truth Social, Trump reflected on his claim and assured that despite increased regional tensions, international maritime traffic passing through the vital shipping lane will not be closed to the rest of the world. Trump said, the Strait of Hormuz is open, and will remain open, with or without Iran. “We are reimposing the ‘Iranian blockade’, so named because it simply prevents Iranian ships or customers from entering or leaving the country,” he wrote. All other countries will be able to use Hormuz freely and freely.
Claim to impose 20 percent toll tax
Trump claimed that imposing a 20 percent levy on passing cargo is a necessary measure to cover the operating costs of securing this volatile shipping lane. From now on, the USA will be known as the ‘Guardian of the Strait of Hormuz’, but in this role, and in fairness, will receive reimbursement at the rate of 20% on all cargo shipped, for any and all costs required for the work of providing safety and security to this extremely volatile part of the world.
The President further said that the implementation and institutionalization of this security and expense reimbursement model will be done without any delay and he said that its process and formation will start immediately. Meanwhile, CENTCOM said in a post on X that the US military attacked a submarine and ship maintenance center in Iran on Sunday.
Use of maritime drones in combat operations
CENTCOM wrote, three ‘Corsair’ unmanned surface vessels (USVs) attacked the port of Bandar Abbas naval base. This is the first time that the US military has used maritime drones in combat operations. This step comes after Trump’s previous warning against Iran, in which he condemned Tehran for not respecting the ceasefire agreement amid the ongoing unrest and claiming control over the important strategic route like the Strait of Hormuz.
Trump insisted that Iran had broken a done deal, which had been agreed upon just the night before. Expressing his anger over Iran’s actions, the US President said, it seems that they have again returned to their old tricks of capturing the strait. We are capturing the Strait of Hormuz. They don’t have anything.
Condemn US attacks against Tehran
Ahead of Trump’s claims, Iran’s Foreign Ministry condemned the US strikes against Tehran and accused Washington of disrupting global commercial shipping by interfering in security arrangements in the crucial Strait of Hormuz. In a formal statement posted on Twitter, the ministry argued that recent US actions threaten international maritime trade and rekindle active conflict in the region. The ministry strongly condemned the aggressive and brutal US attacks carried out in the last 24 hours.
