2 Indians who successfully climbed Mount Everest died during their return, one had made a world record 2 days ago

Two Indian climbers who successfully climbed the world’s highest peak Mount Everest have died. One of them is the climber who was part of the group of 274 climbers who successfully climbed Mount Everest two days ago. An official said today on Friday that two Indian climbers who climbed the peak of Everest died while coming down.

On Wednesday, 274 climbers, including 3 Indians, successfully climbed Mount Everest from Nepal, and created a new record for the highest number of people climbing the peak in a single day. But two Indian climbers died during the return journey.

‘The guides tried hard but could not save’

Rishi Bhandari, general secretary of Nepal’s Expedition Operators Association, said the Indian climbers, identified as Arun Kumar Tiwari and Sandeep Are, were extremely exhausted while descending from the peak and could not be saved despite best efforts by their guides.

Rishi Bhandari told news agency PTI that it seems that he reached the peak of Everest on Wednesday and Arun Tiwari reached the peak of Everest at around 5.30 pm on Thursday. He said his guides “worked very hard” but were unable to save him. Hey died on Thursday, but it is not clear when Tiwari died.

274 people had made a record on Wednesday

Earlier on Wednesday, three Indians, including Sandeep Are, were part of a group of 274 climbers who scaled the 8,848.86 meter high peak. This was also a new record for the most number of people climbing the peak in a single day. Along with Are, two other Indian mountaineers Tulsi Reddy Palpunuri and Ajay Pal Singh Dhaliwal were also included in the world record making team. The next day, on Thursday, India’s Laxmikanta Mandal also managed to reach the world’s highest peak.

Rishi Bhandari had earlier told that 150 Nepalese Sherpas were also among the 274 climbers who reached the peak in a single day. He also said that this spring the people who climbed Everest have made this new record. Whereas 502 climbers were given permission to climb Everest in spring 2026.
