
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and French President Emmanuel Macron on Sunday jointly inaugurated the India Innovates 2026 exhibition at the Palace of Expositions in Nice, France. This three-day long event is an effort to bring together Indian startups, researchers, investors and global technology experts on one platform.
Participation of 120 startups and 20 institutions
More than 120 cutting-edge deep-tech startups and more than 20 leading educational and research institutes of India are participating in this program. The focus of the exhibition is on 13 key technology areas, which include areas like quantum computing, semiconductor, biotechnology, defense technology, space, healthcare, medtech, advanced materials and clean energy. Apart from this, more than 350 investors and venture capitalists from all over the world have also reached this event, which is expected to provide new opportunities for global investment and partnership to Indian startups.
Modi enumerated the achievements of India-France cooperation
In his address, Prime Minister Modi said that India and France are continuously working together to solve global challenges. He mentioned the cooperation between the two countries in International Solar Alliance, Artificial Intelligence and Indo-Pacific region.
The Prime Minister said that the startup revolution in India is taking the country’s innovation capability to new heights and its impact is clearly visible in the technological solutions presented at the exhibition.
Emphasis on connecting technology with humanity
Modi said that AI, satellite technology, green hydrogen, battery technology and electric mobility can become the foundation of future sustainable development. He emphasized that any startup should not be evaluated only by its market value, but also by its impact on society and humanity.
India on its way to becoming a global innovation hub
The Prime Minister and President Macron visited the exhibition and also interacted with various startups and innovators. Bharat Innovates 2026 reflects the vision of the Government of India, under which rapid work is being done towards making the country a global innovation hub in line with the goal of a developed India. This event also highlights the growing strength of India-France technical partnership.
