Thanks to BJP leadership for support
BJP members and volunteers K. Offered prayers and participated in special rituals at the Kamakshi Amman Temple in Kanchipuram for the success and strength of Annamalai’s ‘Idhu Namma Iyakkam’ movement. Let us tell you that BJP National President Nitin Nabin on Friday accepted Annamalai’s resignation from the primary membership of the party. In his resignation letter, Annamalai thanked the BJP leadership for the unwavering support he had received over the years. He argued that differing views on Tamil Nadu were the reason behind his decision to leave the party.
Our views differ regarding Tamil Nadu
He said that I thank the senior leadership of BJP for their unwavering support for the issues and concerns which I have brought to their attention from time to time. He further said, after talks with the senior leadership, I have come to the conclusion that our views regarding Tamil Nadu are not the same.
BJP’s crushing defeat in Tamil Nadu elections
This development comes three days after Annamalai’s visit to New Delhi, where he met BJP President Nabeen, party General Secretary BL Santosh and Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Speculations about Annamalai launching a new political party intensified after the BJP’s crushing defeat in the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, where the party got only 3 per cent of the votes while contesting 27 seats in alliance with the AIADMK.
