
Amidst the controversy over theft of offerings in Ram temple, interesting figures have come to light regarding the average offerings being made by devotees in the major temples of the country. According to these figures, while in Badrinath temple a devotee makes an average offering of Rs 620, in Ayodhya the devotee makes an average offering of Rs 620. Ram Mandir This average is only Rs 5 per devotee. This average of offerings has been calculated on the basis of total offerings received in the respective temples and the number of devotees who reached there.
At the same time, the average offering per devotee is the highest in Siddhivinayak Temple of Maharashtra. Here every devotee makes an average offering of Rs 827.

In which temple are devotees making maximum offerings?
Siddha Vinayak Temple- The idol of Ganesha and Siddhi is installed in this temple in Mumbai. An offering of Rs 182 crore was made here in 2025. Talking about devotees, 22 lakh people visited this temple in a year. On an average, each devotee donated Rs 827. Which is the highest in any big temple of India.
Siddhi Vinayak Temple was established in the year 1901 AD. This temple was built by Laxman Vithu Patil and his wife Deubai Patil. In Hindi customs, Lord Ganesha is worshiped first. He is considered the initiator. VIP people and big industrialists throng this temple of Mumbai.
Tirupati Balaji Temple- The statue of Lord Venkatesh is installed in Tirupati temple located in Andhra Pradesh. 3 crore devotees will come here for darshan in the year 2025. The temple received an offering of Rs 1738 crore. If seen on an average, every person made an offering of Rs 579.
Tirupati Temple Trust is considered to be the most reliable trust in terms of managing offerings. In 2008, a committee was formed to review the trust under the chairmanship of former Supreme Court Justice Wadhwa. This committee had praised the work of the Trust.
Badrinath Temple- Lord Vishnu is worshiped in the Badrinath temple located in Uttarakhand. This year, after the doors opened, 11 lakh people reached Badri Vishal to have darshan. These people made an offering of Rs 70 lakh. If seen from the point of view of each devotee, it is around Rs 620.
It is not easy for the devotees to reach Badrinath Dham, which is situated at an altitude of about 3,133 meters above sea level. Many devotees are able to reach here for darshan only once in their entire life. This is the reason why the average offering per devotee here is relatively high.
Shirdi Sai Baba- Sai Baba is worshiped in this temple located in Ahilya Nagar, Maharashtra. Last year, 3 crore devotees visited this temple. These devotees made offerings worth Rs 660 crores. On an average, every devotee here made an offering of Rs 220.
Ram temple- Ram temple was built in Ayodhya in the year 2024, since then there is a huge crowd of devotees. Between April 2025- 28 February 2026, 16 crore people had darshan of Ram Lala. During this period devotees made offerings worth Rs 83 crores. On an average, every devotee has made an offering of Rs 5 in the Ram temple.
However, this figure is official. It is being said that if the case of donation theft had not come to light, it could have increased.
Vaishnodevi Temple- Maa Vaishno Devi temple located in Jammu also attracts a huge crowd of devotees. In the year 2025, 70 lakh devotees will visit Vaishnodevi. These devotees made offerings worth Rs 172 crore. On an average, each devotee made an offering of Rs 246.
