Shami made a big contribution in this victory with his bowling, the highlight of which was his hat-trick. But even before taking the hat-trick, he got one wicket, which came on the basis of a sensational catch.

In response to the target of 209 runs set by Siliguri, Shami gave a shock to the Tigers in the very first over. On the fifth ball of his over, the ball hit the bat of opener Sumant Gupta and went near the slip fielder. The fielder standing a little behind at second slip tried to take the catch by diving to his right but was not successful. But during this time the ball bounced from his hand and here the street fielder dived to the left and took an excellent catch with one hand.

After this, for some time, the Tigers batsmen scored runs and moved rapidly towards the target. But then Shami changed the game in the 16th over. On the fourth ball of this over, Shami dismissed his IPL Lucknow Super Giants teammate Shahbaz Ahmed. Then the next ball was a bouncer, on which he sent the new batsman Rohit Kumar back to the pavilion. After this, it was the turn of the hat-trick ball and Shami completed the first hat-trick of the league by dismissing Dipanjan Mukhopadhyay LBW with a perfect yorker. Servotech won this match by 24 runs.
