WWDC 2026: Apple has made many big announcements related to iOS 27, Siri and Apple Intelligence in its annual WWDC 2026 event. This mega event of Apple has started from June 8. The company has promised better performance, faster AirDrop and a smarter Siri with the new update. The best thing is that iOS 27 update will be available for devices up to iPhone 11 series. This event was also special because it is being seen as the last WWDC keynote of Apple CEO Tim Cook.
iPhone 11 will get iOS 27 update
Apple told during WWDC 2026 that iOS 27 is going to be the iOS update that reaches the most devices till date. According to the company, all devices from the iPhone 11 series to the upcoming new iPhone 18 models will be eligible for this update. This means that users of iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, iPhone 11 Pro Max, iPhone SE second generation, iPhone 12, iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 15, iPhone 16, iPhone 17 and the upcoming iPhone 18 series will get a new software experience. With this, millions of old iPhone users are going to get the benefit of latest features and security updates without buying a new phone. The company claims that this will be the most comprehensive iOS rollout ever.
Big focus on Siri and Apple Intelligence
This year’s WWDC event is very important for Siri and Apple Intelligence. Apple is emphasizing on making its virtual assistant Siri smarter and more useful than before. The company has been busy strengthening its AI strategy for some time and many new announcements have been made in this direction. Performance boost and changes to Liquid Glass
With iOS 27, Apple has paid special attention not only to new features but also to performance improvements. The company claims that new photos will appear 70 percent faster than before, while AirDrop transfers will be up to 80 percent faster. Apart from this, improvements have been made in the CPU scheduler which will improve the multitasking experience. Talking about design, some changes have been made in the Liquid Glass interface introduced last year. Users who did not like this design much will now be able to reduce some of its effects. And those who like this design will get the option to use it more prominently. Apple says that the purpose of these changes is to make the user experience more flexible and personalized.
