WWDC 2026 Highlights: From iOS27 to Siri AI, these 11 big announcements were made at the Apple event, read everything

There have been many big announcements in Apple WWDC 2026, in the Apple event held on June 8, the company has made many big announcements like Siri AI, iOS 27, more options than before to customize the liquid glass interface and Apple Intelligence upgrade. This was the last WWDC keynote of CEO Tim Cook in which he gave a special message to the developers and expressed confidence about the future of Apple. WWDC 2026 Announcements: These big announcements were made

  1. Big upgrade to Siri AI: Apple has upgraded Siri and announced its new name during the event, now Siri will be known as Siri AI. The company has described it as a more capable assistant powered by Apple Intelligence, which will no longer be limited to just answering questions, but now this assistant will be able to do many things automatically like taking photos, messages and emails of your people. The company says that the upgraded version of Siri can understand personal context and interact with users more naturally. Apple has also announced a dedicated Siri app for iPhone, iPad, and Mac devices, allowing users to revisit past conversations and interact with the content appearing on their screens.
  2. Apple Intelligence also upgraded: The company has strengthened Apple Intelligence more than before, which can now understand voice, text and images better. The company’s focus was not just on showcasing AI but on making it useful and safe. Siri AI combined with Apple Intelligence will respond more accurately and smarter than before.
  3. Search smarter than ever: Apple has made major changes to the search infrastructure found in Spotlight and other system features. The company said during the event that it has rebuilt the system search index to improve efficiency and reliability. This update will improve search functionality in all apps including mail. It was explained during the keynote that the device stores all your content, so it can understand what you have and where to find it. The improved indexing system is designed to provide more relevant search results and faster retrieval of information stored on users’ devices.
  4. Liquid Glass is even better than before: A year after introducing the Liquid Glass design language, Apple has improved it to improve usability and performance. The company said that users will get more control over transparency settings, which will include options ranging from a completely transparent interface to a more tinted appearance. Apple has also adjusted text labels, toolbars, and animations to improve readability and responsiveness.
  5. New AI powered features in Apple devices: Apart from Siri AI, Apple has highlighted several new AI powered experiences. The company introduced a feature called Spatial Reframing, which uses artificial intelligence and 3D modeling to create new perspectives from existing photos. While presenting this feature, an Apple presenter said that it felt as if I could go back in time and adjust my camera according to that moment. Apple has also upgraded the Home app with Apple Intelligence capabilities that can analyze footage from connected security cameras and create summaries of recorded events. The feature can recognize special moments, show relevant clips, and help users search footage across multiple cameras. Apple senior manager Cecilia Dantas said, with this deep understanding, you can even search through camera clips to see what was captured even before you type.
  6. AI Agents in Password App: Apple has included AI agents with new functionality in the Password app. The company said that Apple Intelligence will work with Safari to automatically identify weak or compromised passwords and update them while navigating websites on the user’s behalf.
  7. AI Updates in iOS 27: Apple has added many new AI updates in iOS 27 such as you will be able to access Siri AI by swiping down from the dynamic island, where its responses will also be visible. iOS 27 also brings Siri Mode to the Camera app, which can recognize objects in your viewfinder and tell you more about them. The company says that iOS 27 will be supported by iPhone 11 and later versions.
  8. New Parental Controls: Apple has made a major update in the parental control system. Now parents who enroll their child in a child account can choose which apps and content they want to give them access to, and the child will have to ask for permission before opening a new website. The company has also redesigned the Screen Time menu, which the company says will make it easier for parents to manage how much time their children spend on the phone.
  9. AI tab management added to Safari: During the keynote, Apple showed off several useful new features for Safari, including a new tab management feature that will use AI to organize all your open webpages by topic. A new Notify Me feature has also been added that lets you ask Safari to alert you about changes to a webpage, such as if a product you have your eye on is back in stock. Apart from this, Safari will automatically update your compromised password for you.
  10. Siri added in macOS 27 Golden Gate: Apple has also introduced an AI heavy update for macOS 27 Golden Gate. You will get access to Siri in the Spotlight menu, through which you can ask questions and select files directly in the search bar. Like iOS 27, the latest version of macOS will let you adjust its liquid glass design with a new slider.
  11. Performance Improvement: Special attention has been paid to speed and performance in iOS 27, during the event it was told that the speed of AirDrop transfer and photo loading is now faster than before. Not only this, multitasking has also improved.
