If there is water there is tomorrow, if there is forest then there is life
In his address, CM said that if there is water, there is tomorrow, if there is forest, there is life, that is, the cycle of life is interconnected with each other. Yet we ignored it most of the time. Every person above 40 realizes how the world is paying the price of messing with the environment. There was a difference of one to one and a half months between 25 years ago and the current weather cycle. India and Uttar Pradesh have agriculture based economy. Farmers will be most affected by the difference in weather cycles. His income will be affected and he will have to face excessive rainfall and drought. Food crisis may arise. Disasters that occur untimely are also a warning.
Perform duties towards mother and motherland
CM Yogi said that our ancestors and sage tradition had warned about the environment. We call ourselves sons of Mother Earth. After conquering Lanka, Lord Ram said to Lakshman ji that Lakshman is interested in the golden Lanka, his mother is the birthplace of heaven and the poor. That is, even if Lanka is made of gold, I do not like it. It should be our responsibility to discharge our duties and express gratitude towards the mother who gave birth to us and the place where we were born. Mother and motherland are greater than heaven. The words said by Lord Ram are relevant for every Indian even today.
Material achievements only as long as one remains healthy
CM Yogi said that material achievements are momentary. These are achieved only as long as you remain healthy and achieve the goal of health. Consult the texts of India to face the challenges facing the environment. In the tradition of India, our relationship towards every living creature has been linked. Lord Shankar has a snake around his neck and rides Nandi. Kartikeya’s vehicle is a peacock, Ganpati’s vehicle is a mouse and Maa Bhagwati’s vehicle is a lion. In every period, worship of bull and mother cow have been given recognition. They are the basis of the agricultural system. The snake has been recognized as a farmer’s friend. This life cycle is interconnected.

There will be difference in temperature of Kukrail and Lucknow
Referring to the magnificent natural environment of Kukrail forest area, CM said that there is a difference in the temperature there and Lucknow. The temperature in Lucknow will be 45 and in Kukrail the temperature will be 40 or less. Whoever moves forward in the lap of nature will be important for health. We removed illegal encroachments from Kukrail. Today, the most spectacular natural scene of Lucknow, Saumitra Forest, is also visible on the banks of Kukrail.
Only if nature is safe, humanity will be safe
CM mentioned the theme of World Environment Day 2026 as Inspired by Nature for Climate for Our Future and said that clean air, pure water, fertile land and green forests are the lifeline of human civilization. Only when nature remains safe, humanity will be safe. Under Jal Jeevan Mission, arrangements for water and submersible have been made in every house, but earlier digging a well was considered a sacred task. One stepwell is equal to ten wells, one pond is equal to ten stepwells, one son is equal to ten ponds and one tree is equal to ten sons, that is, the importance of a tree is the highest.
Message of One Earth, One Family and One Future
CM Yogi said that the Prime Minister had called for a campaign in the name of Mother Tree three years ago. With his inspiration, a massive tree plantation program was carried forward in the state in 9 years. To face the crises, the PM has also given the message of one earth, one family and one future to the world in accordance with Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam. On his call, we all Indians are standing with nature, facing the environmental challenges towards our mother and birthplace under the tree plantation campaign.
CM said that in March 2017, barely 5 lakh saplings were available in the forest department nurseries for plantation, but today 55 crore saplings are ready in government and private nurseries. Today, under the Ek Peed Maa Ka Naam campaign, five crore saplings are being planted across the state. Now we will run a mega campaign in July and along with the citizens, we will plant 35 crore saplings in one day.

Global warming is a challenge for the environment.
CM described global warming, air pollution, degradation of bio-diversity and water crisis as challenges. He said that due to this, greenhouse gases and such particles are coming into the environment and are affecting the lungs. Such things are dissolving in the atmosphere, which are harmful for the environment. Due to this the cycle of rainfall has changed. Somewhere there is drought and somewhere there is flood.
UP is among the richest states in terms of water resources.
CM Yogi said that UP is one of the richest states in terms of water resources. We have many sites, they need to be marked. Will have to be freed from illegal encroachments. Nine years ago there was only one Ramsar site in the state, today there are 13. Surha Tal inside Ballia, the sacred birthplace of the great freedom fighter Jayaprakash, who raised the trumpet against the Emergency, has been selected as the 13th Ramsar site. In 2021, PM Modi inaugurated the fertilizer plant in Gorakhpur.
He told that it was suggested to the officials that there is Chiluatal adjacent to the factory, if they conserve it then good water can be available. The entire Chiluatal was preserved. At present, water supply is being done from the same pond to the fertilizer factory, township, Sainik School on campus and SSB headquarters. Three days ago I went to the pond at five in the evening. The temperature in Gorakhpur that day was 45 degrees, but the temperature there seemed to be less than 35 degrees.

Ramgarhtal and Chiluatal were protected
Emphasizing on the conservation of locks, the CM said that we have preserved Ramgarhtal spread over 1400 acres and Chiluatal spread over 400-500 acres in Gorakhpur. These are natural water bodies. The CM also appreciated those village heads who have contributed in taking it forward in the form of wetland or Ramsar sites in the Gram Panchayat or are associated with their marking and notification. CM stressed on the historical and mythological importance of Shravasti and said that earlier it was neglected, but today Ken Nala there has been notified as a Biodiversity Heritage Site.
Protect ponds, ponds, wells and stepwells
CM said that it is the responsibility of village heads, chairman of municipal bodies and mayor to preserve and revive ponds, ponds, wells and stepwells. Make them a part of Gram Panchayat-Municipal Body. These will become the basis of water conservation. The CM also highlighted the importance of Amrit Sarovar and said that there should be no encroachment in the catchment area of the river.
We increased infrastructure and also forest cover
CM said that most of the expressways, most of the fourlane-sixlane roads were built in UP, most of the infrastructure was established in UP, yet despite this, UP has achieved success in increasing the forest cover. 242 crore saplings were planted here in 9 years.
Minister of State for Forests (Independent Charge) Dr. Arun Kumar Saxena, Minister of State for Forests KP Malik, Principal Secretary (Forest) V Hekali Jhimomi, Chairman of Uttar Pradesh Pollution Control Board RP Singh, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests and Head of the Department Sunil Chaudhary, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Anuradha Vemuri etc. were present in the ceremony.
