
Indian-origin technology expert Sriram Krishnan has announced that he will resign from his post in the White House at the end of June 2026. He was working as AI (Artificial Intelligence) policy advisor to US President Donald Trump. After serving in this role for about 18 months, he has decided to step down.
In a post on social media platform He told that after leaving the post he will take a break for some time. After this he will work on the big challenges facing America related to AI. However, he did not give any information about his next project and said that it will be announced later.

Krishnan praised Trump
In his message he also praised President Donald Trump. Krishnan said that today America is at the forefront of the global race of AI and a major credit for this goes to Trump’s leadership. According to him, without Trump’s leadership, America would not have been in such a strong position in the AI field.
Sriram Krishnan told that in the last 18 months he worked on many important AI plans and policies. These include the American AI Action Plan, a partnership program to increase America’s AI capacity, and a National AI Policy Framework related to AI.
Who is Sriram Krishnan?
Sriram Krishnan was born in India and is a resident of Chennai. He studied from SRM Engineering College, Chennai. After this he worked in many big tech companies of the world, including Microsoft, Facebook, Twitter and Snap. Later he joined the famous investment company Andreessen Horowitz and made a name for himself as a technology investor. And
He has also been a close advisor to Elon Musk and was part of the team advising Musk during the purchase of Twitter. On January 20, 2025, with the start of Trump’s second term, Sriram Krishnan joined the White House as AI Policy Advisor. Earlier in 2024, he was appointed Senior White House Policy Advisor on AI.
