
Social activist Sonam Wangchuk, who has been fasting for 20 days at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, has been taken to the hospital by the police. His health was continuously deteriorating, his weight had reduced significantly. After which he was taken to Safdarjung Hospital. Wangchuk’s health was being continuously monitored. He has been shifted to the hospital only after the order of the High Court. Delhi Police has cited the High Court order
While sharing a post on social media, DCP New Delhi said that following the orders of the High Court and the advice of medical experts, in view of the deteriorating health of Sonam Wangchuk, she has been shifted to the hospital for necessary medical care. The post further said that the police exercised great restraint during this period and did this work safely. We appeal to the protesters present at Jantar Mantar to vacate the place peacefully as soon as possible.

Instructions for regular checkups from doctors
A public interest litigation filed in the Delhi High Court regarding the safety and health of Sonam Wangchuk was heard. During this time, the court had said that Wangchuk’s health should be regularly examined by government doctors. It was also said that necessary steps should be taken as per the doctors’ report. The court emphasized that life is precious.

Wangchuk on hunger strike from June 28
In fact, a peaceful protest is being held at Junker Mantar in Delhi regarding the leaking of papers of major examinations like NEET. The protesters are demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan. Sonam Wangchuk is also involved in this. He is on hunger strike since June 28 demanding his resignation.
Doctors keep an eye on Wangchuk’s health
The team of doctors was keeping an eye on Sonam Wangchuk’s health. His health was continuously deteriorating. On Friday night he released a video message. In which he told that about 20 percent of his body weight has been reduced. He told that the muscles of the body have also been affected, but his courage and mental state is still strong.

Along with this, in his message Wangchuk had also urged the people of the country to participate in large numbers in the ‘Chalo Sansad’ march proposed on July 20. He had said that the accountability of the governments should be fixed on the future of crores of students of the country and the irregularities in the education system. He said that after the NEET controversy, many students committed suicide and the government should answer on this issue.
