‘This is an attack on democracy’
Samajwadi Party MP Dimple Yadav termed this action as an attack on democracy. He said on social media that forcibly removing Sonam Wangchuk is not just an action but an attack on democracy and the Constitution. He said that the BJP government can no longer even tolerate peaceful protests, it is a dictatorship.

‘The government only knows how to use the stick’
Meanwhile, TMC Rajya Sabha MP Sagarika Ghosh has also expressed displeasure over this action. He said on social media, ‘What kind of shocking and blatant government violence is this? The morally bankrupt Modi government only knows how to use the stick. This is not acceptable’.

All roads leading to Jantar Mantar closed
Delhi Police has closed all the roads leading to Jantar Mantar. Police are appealing to the protesters to vacate Jantar Mantar. DCP New Delhi said on social media that ‘As per the order of the Honorable High Court and the advice of medical experts, in view of the deteriorating health of Sonam Wangchuk, she has been shifted to the hospital for necessary medical care. The police exercised great restraint and did this work safely. We appeal to the protesters present at Jantar Mantar to vacate the place peacefully as soon as possible.
