
The dispute between a female passenger and an Uber driver in Mumbai has become a topic of discussion on social media these days. The woman has alleged that after the completion of the cab journey, the driver behaved rudely and even scuffled with her during a dispute over asking for extra money. According to media reports, the girl’s name is Shivani and she shared a video about this on her Insta. During this, he claimed that a few days ago he had booked an Uber cab to go from Mahalaxmi area of Mumbai to Nerul in Navi Mumbai. This ride was going normally and after reaching the destination, the total fare appeared in the app as Rs 501. According to Shivani, she made the online payment through the app and the ride was officially over.
The struggle started for 40 rupees
The woman says that immediately after the ride ended, the driver demanded an extra Rs 40 from her. They allege that this extra amount was not recorded anywhere in the app, nor was any information given about it before or during the commencement of the journey. Since payment had already been made and the ride was over, he refused to pay extra money.
According to Shivani, after her refusal the driver’s attitude suddenly changed. He alleged that the driver became angry and started arguing with him. The situation became more tense when the driver allegedly tried to lock the car from inside. The woman says that due to this she started feeling afraid for her safety. They told that the driver was trying to scare them and put pressure on them so that they would pay extra money. The woman said in her video that somehow she managed to get out of the car, but even after coming out the dispute did not end. According to him, the driver kept following him and trying to block the way. She alleged that when she confronted him and asked him to maintain distance, he came very close to her.

According to the woman’s allegations, the driver slapped her and also held her hand and started twisting it. The local people tried to pacify both the parties and tried to stop the dispute from escalating. The woman further said that she immediately called her office colleagues and asked for help. His companions reached the spot, but despite this the driver continued arguing. Shivani alleges that the driver had no remorse for his behavior and remained adamant on his point.
Another allegation in this whole matter caught people’s attention. The woman claims that her Uber account was also blocked after the incident. He raised the question as to why there was a need to close the account of a complainant.
