
Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board successfully conducted the written examination of direct recruitment-2025 for constable civilian police and its equivalent posts in a peaceful, transparent and well-organized environment. On 8, 9 and 10 June 2026, the examination was conducted in two shifts at 1183 examination centers in 75 districts of the state.
Through state-of-the-art technological monitoring, e-KYC verification, biometric matching and social media monitoring during the examination, the Recruitment Board effectively curbed the attempts of cheating, impersonation and spreading rumours.
Candidates arrived in large numbers
According to the recruitment board, a total of 28,86,798 candidates appeared in the examination. These included 19,62,561 male candidates (67.99 percent) and 9,24,237 female candidates (32.01 percent). A total of 21,92,236 candidates appeared in the three-day examination, which is 75.94 percent of the total registered candidates. The successful conduct of examination for such a large number of candidates is being considered a great example of the administrative capacity and security arrangements of the state.
Legal action on complaint
Examination During the examination, a candidate Ankit Kumar, son of Satyadev, resident of Kutiyana, police station Kotwali Dehat, district Etah, was investigated at Mihir Bhoj PG College Examination Center of Gautam Budh Nagar district due to e-KYC mismatch. Investigation revealed that he had appeared in the examination through a forged Aadhar card. Necessary legal action has been initiated by registering a case under section 318(4), 338, 336(3), 340(2) of the Indian Justice Code on June 9, 2026 in Police Station Dadri, Gautam Buddha Nagar.
Similarly, at the DAV Girls Inter College Examination Center of Aligarh district, Ankit son of Ravindra Singh, resident of Talibpur, police station Khurja Dehat, district Bulandshahr, was caught giving the examination in the name of another candidate Lokesh son of Netrapal. After biometric mismatch and fraud in the verification of documents came to light, a case number 474/2026 was registered in Police Station Quarsi, Aligarh on 9 June 2026 under sections 318(4), 336(2), 336(3), 337, 338, 340(2) of the Indian Justice Code and sections 4 and 13(2) of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination Act-2024. Was arrested.
Action against those sharing misleading videos
On the basis of complaints received on WhatsApp number 9454457951 issued by the Recruitment Board, action was also taken against those circulating misleading and factless videos regarding the examination on social media platforms. Case number 83/2026 was registered in Police Station Hussainganj, Lucknow Commissionerate in connection with the dissemination of misleading videos regarding the examination by a channel named “Shubham Mittal” on YouTube. Action is being taken against the accused under Sections 221 and 292 of the Indian Justice Code, Section 66D of the Information Technology Act and Section 4 and 13(2) of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination Act-2024.
In the same sequence, case number 82/2026 was registered in police station Hussainganj under Section 221, 292 Indian Justice Code and Section 66D Information Technology Act against Instagram user reshami68yadav for circulating a misleading video regarding the examination. Case number 84/2026 was registered in police station Hussainganj under section 221, 292 of the Indian Justice Code and section 66D Information Technology Act-2008 for spreading misleading material related to examination by Instagram user durgeshsaxena94 and ID mukti.reem_98.
Whereas Instagram user Rohit (Oye Hero) and ID Rohitvlogs_24*7 circulated a misleading and factless video regarding the examination, action is being taken by registering a case in police station Hussainganj under case number 85/2026, Section 221, 292 of the Indian Justice Code, Section 66D Information Technology Act and Section 4/13(2) of the Uttar Pradesh Public Examination Act-2024.
Stopped for investigation on suspicion
On Wednesday, candidate Nagesh Kumar, son of Ram Prasad, resident of Ghazipur Dargah, Jaunpur district, was stopped for investigation on the basis of suspicion at Lalu Prasad Intermediate College, Mall Road examination center of Kanpur Nagar district. During interrogation and scrutiny of documents, the possibility of his appearing in the examination on the basis of forged documents came to light. Necessary legal action is being taken after detailed inquiry in the matter.
The Recruitment Board said that apart from the above cases, including the cases registered in the previous days, a total of 12 cases related to the examination have been registered so far. In these cases, a total of 9 accused have been arrested and legal action has been taken against them.
