June 9, 2026 by Uma Shankar

US President Donald Trump has been continuously saying for the last two months that an agreement is going to be made between America and Iran. But no agreement has been reached till now. According to the report, Trump has so far said 37 times that a deal with Iran is very close or that Iran is ready to compromise.

On March 23, Trump told reporters outside Air Force One that almost all issues had been agreed upon in the peace talks. However, Iran had at that time denied that talks would take place. On March 24, Trump said that he thinks this controversy will end soon. On March 25, he said that Iran wanted to compromise very badly. In the cabinet meeting on March 26, he claimed that Iran was begging for a deal.

March to April came, but no agreement was reached

On March 29, Trump said he expected a deal to be reached within the next week. On April 6, he said that both sides had come very close to an agreement, but some problems arose in between. On April 7, Trump wrote on social media that America and Iran are very close to an agreement. He said that only two more weeks are needed, after which the deal will be completed. But two weeks passed and no agreement was reached. Both countries agreed to ceasefire on 8 April.

On April 15, Trump said that the matter was almost over and Iran was very eager to make a deal. On April 16 and 17, he said several times that an agreement would be reached soon. He even said that Iran has accepted almost all the conditions and a deal can be done in a day or two. On April 20, Trump said that everything would be done very soon. Even after this, on April 30 and May 1, he again claimed that Iran wants a compromise and the war will not last long.

On May 18, Trump said that at the request of some countries in the Middle East, he had postponed military action for two-three days because the agreement was very close. However, he also admitted that many times in the past also it seemed that a deal was about to be made, but it did not work out. After this, on May 19, May 23 and May 28, Trump kept saying that the agreement is almost certain and it can be announced soon.

Trump again said that the agreement was close

Recently, in an interview given to Axios, he again said that America and Iran are very close to the final agreement. Even on June 9, Trump claimed that talks are ongoing, Iran wants a good deal and is ready to accept almost all of America’s conditions. However, despite these 37 claims of Trump, no final agreement has been reached between America and Iran till now. This is the reason why questions are being raised on his repeated claims.
