China Real estate scam in (Real Estate Scam) Such a case has come to light, seeing which people are shocked and are left wondering that someone can commit fraud even to this extent. Here a person named Shane had bought his dream home. But when he came to take possession after 4 years, he was shocked. The building had only 32 floors. That means, the flat on the 34th floor on which he had bought actually did not exist.
According to South China Morning PostThis strange incident is from Shanxi province of China. It was in 2013, when Shen was getting a flat at a very cheap price in a project near Xian city. The price of this 90 square meter flat was only one-third of the market rate. Shane thought what could be a better opportunity than this. He immediately made the down payment of 1,17,700 Yuan (i.e. more than Rs 16.5 lakh).
Got ‘gamed’ just for the sake of cheapness
This project was made under the gray market of China. This means that the builder had erected the building illegally on rural land without government permission. Secret revealed after 4 years
After making the down payment, Shen went to Beijing for some work. The deadline of 2015 passed, but the work was not completed. In 2017, I got a call from the builder saying that the work has been completed, come and pay the remaining money. When Shane reached there, the builder clearly said that only 32 floors had been approved by the government, hence the upper floors were not built. That means Shane’s flat remained only on paper. Neither did I get the house nor the money.
The builder first offered Shane a second flat on the 32nd floor, but Shane was not able to arrange the remaining money immediately. Meanwhile, the builder sold the flat to someone else. When Shane asked for his refund, the builder started crying in pain. After a 10-year legal battle, Shen got back only 70 thousand yuan (about Rs 9.84 lakh) in installments. Ultimately Shane approached the Arbitration Commission. The commission ordered the builder to immediately return the entire remaining money of Shane and the interest of Rs 27 thousand on it.
