He said that for the last 12 years, Congress has been looking for opportunities by spreading chaos and uncertainty, but the people of the country have repeatedly given it a befitting reply. The people of Gujarat have marginalized the Congress, but even where there are Congress governments, the people are fed up with the party’s misgovernance.
PM Modi said that Recently, local body elections were also held in Himachal. Despite the Congress government being in power there, the party suffered a crushing defeat. The people of Himachal have rejected the misgovernance of Congress. Earlier in Haryana too, Congress had lost the local body elections, and the people of Punjab have also given a clear message to the party. Congress’s politics of finding opportunities in chaos will not work.
Country’s development top priority of government
PM Modi said that our government is working considering the development of the country as its top priority; That is why the country trusts BJP and its development work, and that is why people give mandate to BJP again and again. I was recently on a tour of five countries, and there too, the talk was only about Bengal. Everyone was discussing Bengal. BJP and NDA have got huge mandate in the elections held in Bengal, Assam and Puducherry.”

PM Modi said that I have come to Surat for the first time after the local body. It has been more than two and a half decades. You have been continuously showering your blessings on all of us and BJP. With time, these blessings have increased. Recently elections were held for Zilla Parishad, Taluka Panchayat, Municipality and Municipal Corporation. In these elections, the people of Gujarat supported BJP so much that all previous records were broken. Today, I am especially happy because you have broken my records too.”
The country is facing every crisis strongly
PM Modi said that the world is going through such challenges which have never happened before. Some time ago, I had said that this decade is proving to be a decade of troubles for the world. In recent times, we have seen troubles one after another across the world. First, COVID-19 caused a huge crisis; Then wars broke out in different places, and a serious energy crisis has thrown the whole world into disarray.
They said that Constant fluctuations in petrol prices are being seen across the world, and gas supply chains are breaking. I am very happy that with the combined efforts of 140 crore Indians, the country is facing every such crisis strongly.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, “Today is also a special occasion. June 5 is World Environment Day, and on this occasion I am in Surat, one of the cleanest cities of the country. It is a matter of great pride that this is the same Surat which was once affected by epidemics like plague, and today is known for its cleanliness.”
Prime Minister Modi said, “Surat’s circular water economy is being discussed a lot these days. Now the effort is to have a complete water supply system for Surat for many decades to come. For this, Tapi Barrage Project has been approved.”
