
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has appointed former Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah as a member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC). This important appointment has been made a few days after he stepped down from the post of Chief Minister. This decision was taken by D.K. Taken a day before Shivakumar was to take oath as the 25th Chief Minister of Karnataka.
Earlier, Siddaramaiah refused to go to Rajya Sabha. According to sources, the Congress high command had first asked Siddaramaiah to go to Rajya Sabha, but he refused. After which the party high command has appointed him a member of the Congress Working Committee (CWC). At the same time, this decision is being seen as an important organizational step from the Congress leadership.
Amidst the change of power and a new era of leadership in Karnataka, the party is believed to be trying to maintain coordination and stability within its state unit. However, till now there has been no reaction from Siddaramaiah’s side on this. However, in the announcement issued by Congress it was said that this appointment will come into effect with immediate effect.
