
Relations between India and Pakistan still remain very tense. There is no warmth in the relationship. Meanwhile, from the Indian side, senior IFS officer Satyanjal Pandey can be appointed as the new Acting High Commissioner (ChargĂ© d’Affaires) in the Indian High Commission located in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad. He will replace Geetika Srivastava, whose tenure has completed.
Giving information in this regard yesterday, sources said that 2008 batch Indian Foreign Service (IFS) officer Satyajanal Pandey will be the next acting High Commissioner of India in Islamabad. At present Satyajanal is the Deputy High Commissioner of India to Sri Lanka.
Pandey will replace Geetika Srivastava
After the appointment is finalized, Satyajanal Pandey will replace Geetika Srivastava in Islamabad, who was appointed to this post in August 2023. Geetika has completed her tenure.
After the Indian government abolished the special status of Jammu and Kashmir in August 2019, Pakistan reduced the level of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Since then, the functioning of the High Commissions of India and Pakistan in Islamabad and Delhi is being handled by their respective Acting High Commissioners.
MBBS degree from KGMC, Lucknow
Satyajanal has 17 years and 10 months of experience in foreign service. According to his profile on Linkedin, he has completed his medical studies. He continued his medical studies from King George’s Medical College, Lucknow from October 1999 to March 2005. He obtained MBBS degree from 1999 to 2004.
Before this, he did his schooling from Agra. Completed his schooling from St. Peter’s College, Agra. He completed his early studies from Rishi Gyan Kendra. After obtaining MBBS degree, Satyanjal studied Diploma in Executive Management from IIM Bangalore.
