
A sad news has come out from the South Film Industry. Big actor of South films Salim Kumar has passed away. After his health deteriorated, he was admitted to a hospital in Kochi where he was kept on ventilator support. But he died due to cardiac arrest. The actor breathed his last at the age of 56. The actor worked in many South films and was also a well-known face of the Malayalam film industry. After the demise of the actor, there is a wave of mourning in the industry and his fans are also very sad.
The statement issued by the hospital said- ‘He was kept on ventilator support and efforts were being made to save him through antibiotics, dialysis and other life saving measures. Every possible effort was made to save him but even after this he died due to cardiac arrest. The actor leaves behind his wife Sunita and two children.
He started his career with theater and mimicry but his first film Istamanu Noru Vettam was released in the year 1996. After that he did many films in Malayalam cinema. However, he was rarely seen in films of other languages. Apart from acting in films, he also directed 3 films. Not only did he perform amazingly in character roles, he also impressed with his acting in many comedy films.

For which film did you get the National Award?
During his career, he worked in films like Mazathullikalukam, Satyameva Jayate, Thenkasipatnam, Ee Parakkum Thalika, Pattalam, Perumzhakalam and Adaminte Makam Abu. He was honored with the National Award for this film in the year 2011. Apart from this, he was also awarded the Keralam State Film Award and Filmfare South Award. He was also awarded the Prem Nazir Award for his excellent acting. Malayalam film industry is in shock due to his demise at a young age and is missing the actor.
