Pant, who made his Test debut on 18 August 2018, has scored 3476 runs in 86 innings of 49 Tests played so far. Whereas Virat Kohli has scored only 3436 runs in 94 innings of 55 Tests during this period. After Pant’s Test debut, Ravindra Jadeja is third in the list of Indian batsmen who have scored the most runs, who has scored 2899 runs in 80 innings of 53 Tests.
Pant knows how to fight even in difficult situations
Before the Test against Afghanistan, Gautam Gambhir advised Pant to play according to the situation of the match. Pant has scored 2745 runs in 64 innings of 39 Tests while batting in the top 6 batting order. Only Kumar Sangakkara (3092 runs), Alec Stewart (4116 runs) and Andy Flower (4256 runs) have more runs than him.
Pant has left Dhoni and AB de Villiers far behind in this race. Dhoni is at 16th place in that list of wicketkeeper batsmen with 1377 runs. Whereas De Villiers has 1970 runs and is in sixth place.
