After the important meeting of the India Alliance of opposition parties, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge said that a meeting of the alliance will be called every two months. Our next meeting will be called in Hyderabad. In today’s important meeting, consensus was reached on 5 issues. Under this, we will write a letter to the Chief Justice on the issue of SIR. Also our demand is that the Education Minister should resign from his post.
Kharge Said today on Monday that mutual consensus was reached on 5 issues in the meeting. First, a letter will be written to the Chief Justice against vote looting. Second, in the case of NEET-UG paper leak, the Education Minister (Dharmendra Pradhan) should immediately resign. Third, an all-party meeting should be called on the economic condition. Fourth, we will meet every 2 months, its next meeting will be held in Hyderabad on 8th August. Fifth, coordination of all parties will continue in Parliament.
Consensus reached on these five issues in the meeting of India Alliance
- It was agreed that a letter would be sent to the Honorable Chief Justice of India regarding the serious questions raised on Special Intensive Revision (SIR), manipulation of electoral rolls and fairness of elections. This letter will be handed over to him soon.
- Given the state of several serious issues affecting lakhs of students, it was unanimously decided to demand the immediate resignation of the Education Minister, as his tenure has betrayed lakhs of youth appearing for the NEET and CBSE examinations.
- The Central Government should immediately call an all-party meeting to discuss the current serious economic situation, rising unemployment, inflation, and other important issues related to farmers and public concerns.
- It was agreed that all the parties of INDIA Janbandhan would meet every two months. The next meeting will be held in Hyderabad in the month of August.
- Parliamentary coordination will continue during the monsoon session and coordination meetings will be held every morning in the office of Honorable Leader of Opposition, Shri Mallikarjun Kharge.
25 parties attended the meeting
After the meeting, Kharge said, “25 parties attended the India Alliance meeting. Uddhav Thackeray and Hemant Soren also attended the meeting virtually and shared their views. They also agree on all these issues.” After this, we reached consensus on five points. We have agreed today; We will fight for these issues, work on them, and move forward.”
Kharge said, “SIR, it was agreed to send a letter to the Chief Justice on vote looting and election theft. This letter will be given to the Chief Justice very soon. Second point, it was unanimously agreed to demand the immediate resignation of the Education Minister, because he cheated lakhs of youth who appeared for NEET and CBSE exams.”
Next meeting of India alliance will be held in Hyderabad
Kharge said, “The central government should immediately call an all-party meeting to discuss the current poor economic condition, unemployment, inflation and issues related to farmers and other people. It was decided that all parties will meet every two months. Parliament coordination will continue during the monsoon session and meetings will be held every morning in the office of the leader of the opposition.” Kharge said, “It was agreed that all the parties of the India Alliance will meet every two months. The next meeting will be held in Hyderabad in August.”
Kharge said that we showed our solidarity and unity in a very decisive manner in the Lok Sabha on April 17, 2026, when we all came together strongly and defeated the malicious bills of the Modi government on delimitation. Now we have to further strengthen that spirit and take it forward, so that we can face the many political, economic, social and foreign policy challenges facing the country due to the misgovernance of the Modi government.
Parties united on SIR
He said that due to SIR, crores of our people are being deprived of their voting rights. The attack on the Constitution continues. Investigative agencies are increasingly being used as a tool to harass and intimidate political opponents. Non-BJP governments are being discriminated against. The prices of essential commodities are continuously increasing and the economic environment is very negative. New investments are not coming at the pace at which they should be coming to create new jobs.
He said that private monopoly is increasing in many sectors and the future of MSMEs is in serious trouble. The hopes and aspirations of millions of our youth are being betrayed due to the complete mismanagement of the examination system. Atrocities on the weaker sections of the society, especially in BJP ruled states, continue. Our foreign policy has been completely compromised and has not upheld the traditional values that India has long stood for.
These parties attended the meeting
The meeting was attended by Congress, Samajwadi Party, Trinamool Congress, Rashtriya Janata Dal, Jammu and Kashmir National Conference, People’s Democratic Party, Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, Shiv Sena (UBT), Nationalist Congress Party (Sharad Pawar faction), Communist Party of India (Marxist), Communist Party of India, Communist Party of India (Marxist-Leninist) Liberation, Revolutionary Socialist Party, Indian Union Muslim League, Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi, Marumalarchi. Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, Kerala Congress, Kerala Congress (M), Rashtriya Loktantrik Party, Bharat Adivasi Party, Lok Dal, All India Forward Bloc and Shetkari Kamgar Paksha participated.
This was the first meeting of the India Alliance after the assembly elections in five states. Mamata Banerjee participated in this meeting for the first time after her election defeat. After the defeat in Tamil Nadu, DMK has broken ties with the India alliance.
