
Mukesh Ambani’s Reliance Industries Limited and Meta have joined hands to build an AI data center in Jamnagar, Gujarat. Reliance will develop a data center with 168MW capacity in Jamnagar, Gujarat, which is targeted to be built in the next two years. Once the data center is ready, its capacity will be further increased as per the need. In this project, Reliance will take care of the data center design, its construction, electricity, renewable power supply and operational services.
This means that Reliance will play the role of end-to-end infrastructure partner for Meta in this project. This data center will be prepared keeping in mind the needs of Meta. This will support Meta’s AI infrastructure, its core business and large-scale computing needs.
Why only Jamnagar?

In fact, Jamnagar in Gujarat is an important strategic location with advantages like availability of water, renewable energy, proximity to marine internet cable landing stations on the west coast and Jio’s large fiber network. Talking about the data center, it will run on renewable energy and purified sea water will be used for cooling.
Reliance Industries Managing Director and Chairman Mukesh Ambani said that this partnership with Meta is a big moment for India’s digital infrastructure. According to him, Jamnagar will become an important center for hyperscale AI computing.
Meta’s founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said that the company is excited to build the first AI data center in India with Reliance. According to the release, this partnership also matches the priorities of the Government of India, in which data centers have been considered as strategic national infrastructure. This project is also considered an important step towards attracting global AI infrastructure investment in India.
