In the cabinet meeting of Punjab Government, Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann took many big and historic decisions in the interest of the youth, students and general public of the state. The government has made announcements ranging from creating new employment opportunities to providing major relief to students. According to an important decision, the bus fare of the students of the state appearing for the ‘NEET’ examination to be held on June 20, 21 and 22 will be completely free.
simultaneously Punjab Government has also announced to make the fare of one assistant (parent or any other relative) accompanying the students free. About 28 thousand students of Punjab are going to participate in this examination. This decision of the government will provide a lot of financial relief to the candidates and their families.
Recruitment of 156 junior engineers in PWD
Giving a big gift to the youth in the field of employment, the Punjab government has approved to fill 156 posts of Junior Engineer (JE) in the civil and electrical departments of the Public Works Department (PWD). All these posts belong to Group-B category, which will prove to be a great and golden employment opportunity for the educated technical youth of the state.
Relaxation for recruitment of 1013 lecturers
Apart from this, the Cabinet has also given major relief regarding the recruitment of 1013 posts of Punjab Lecturer Cadre. The government has decided to give special relaxation of 5 years in the age limit to the candidates who have crossed the prescribed age limit due to non-recruitment for a long time. Now these lecturers will be recruited in a total of 12 different subjects. This relaxation in age limit will be equally applicable to all categories of candidates.
Strategy to deal with the threat of rain and flood
Finance Minister Harpal Singh Cheema said that in view of the upcoming monsoon season, the government has prepared a concrete strategy to protect people from the wrath of floods. The work of removing silt and mud from all the canals and drains of the state will be done expeditiously.
To complete this work on time, the rules of the tender process have been relaxed significantly. Now, if only one bidder comes for any work, then the tender can be allotted in such a way that there is no delay in the work. In this regard, necessary rights and powers have also been provided to the concerned officers posted in the area to increase the speed of work.
