During the discussion on the bill related to paper leak (Public Examination Amendment Bill, 2026), there was an uproar in the Lok Sabha over a statement by Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi. While targeting the government regarding the Jantar Mantar movement and the reception after the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, Priyanka Gandhi also took a dig at Union Education Minister Prahlad. At present that comment has been removed from the proceedings of the Lok Sabha. After Priyanka’s remarks, party and opposition MPs came face to face.
On this statement of Priyanka Gandhi, the ruling party MPs started an uproar. People from the ruling party opposed Priyanka Gandhi’s comment and termed it as character assassination. Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju demanded removal of the remarks on Prahlad Joshi from the record. Prahlad Joshi also stood up in the House. Along with him, BJP MP Nishikant Dubey also started expressing his protest in front of the Speaker.
Education Minister said- Priyanka should prove it
The matter did not stop here, Prahlad Joshi said that Priyanka Gandhi should prove that I made such a statement, in response to this the Congress MP said yes, she can prove it. KC Venugopal from the Congress side supported Priyanka’s comment and said that people from the ruling party have commented on former Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru, can they prove it?
In response to this, Nishikant Dubey said that yes, he can prove this. However, later Nishikant Dubey’s comment has also been removed from the proceedings of the House. After the Speaker’s intervention, the issue somehow cooled down and the proceedings of the House proceeded. The Speaker asked Priyanka Gandhi not to table any information without facts in the House.

Controversy may increase
Amidst the proceedings of the House, Union Education Minister Prahlad Joshi went to the Speaker’s chamber and met him. Union Ministers Piyush Goyal and Nishikant Dubey were also present along with Joshi. It is believed that this meeting took place regarding Priyanka’s statement. However, no information related to what was discussed in the meeting has been revealed yet.
Not the angle of the camera, but the angle of the heart has to be changed – Priyanka
Taking part in the discussion on paper leak, Priyanka Gandhi said that the Prime Minister will have to change the angle of the heart, not the angle of the camera. He should change his advisors and if the government wants to win back the trust of Gen Z, then the Prime Minister will have to change not only the angle of the camera but also the angle of the heart. Priyanka said that the people of the country are demanding accountability from the government, but they are not getting the answer.
Priyanka handed over video clip and article to the speaker
Priyanka Gandhi has authenticated the statement given in the House on Education Minister Prahlad Joshi by submitting a video clip and article in the Speaker’s office.
