Sonam Wangchuk, who was on hunger strike at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar for the last 20 days, was taken to the hospital by the police on Saturday (July 18). There was a lot of uproar during this period. Delhi Police carried out this entire action in a very planned manner. This action was taken in the morning when there was less crowd at the spot.
According to sources, the strategy of this operation was prepared in a high-level meeting held after the new Police Commissioner Anurag Kumar took charge, after which it was carried out with full preparation.

According to sources, senior officials decided that the action would be taken in the early morning, when the number of protesters was the least. The police also chose the time when Wangchuk’s close aide Abhijit Dipke had gone out of the protest site for some time.
Policemen arrived in plain clothes
Around 30-35 policemen, including special staff from New Delhi district and local police personnel, arrived inside the barricaded protest site in plain clothes. He wore plain clothes instead of uniform so that he could avoid people’s attention.
Covered Wangchuk with white sheets
The policemen first covered Sonam Wangchuk’s bed with big white sheets from all sides and then removed her from the stage and took her out. During this time every effort was made to avoid the cameras. According to sources, this action taken at Jantar Mantar on Saturday morning was not sudden. Rather, it was part of a well-thought-out strategy.

This entire operation was carried out in three levels. Policemen in plain clothes present on the first level took control of the stage and removed Wangchuk from there. At the other level, CRPF and Rapid Action Force personnel stopped the protesters outside the barricades so that there was no conflict. At the third level, senior Delhi Police officers kept monitoring the entire operation from the control point near the ambulances and police vehicles. As soon as Wangchuk was seated in the ambulance, the traffic police completely cleared the way for him, due to which the ambulance reached Safdarjung Hospital directly without any hindrance. It is being told that only senior officials were aware of this action. Those of the inspector label were only ordered to reach the spot.
Abhijeet Dipke’s allegation
Shortly after the operation was over, Abhijeet Dipke returned to the protest site and alleged that Sonam Wangchuk was removed from there in his absence. Abhijeet said that now he will go on a fast and demand the resignation of the PM. Delhi Police says that the entire action was taken peacefully and with restraint. The police also appealed to the protesters to vacate the Jantar Mantar protest site peacefully as soon as possible.
